Centre for Renewable Energy & Entrepreneurship Village for Kumasi Polytechnic

President John Mahama in June 2016 inaugurated a renewable energy and entrepreneurship village for the Kumasi Polytechnic at Piase in the Ashanti region.
The entrepreneurship village has been able to produce an electric vehicle which recharges whilst in motion, recycling of plastic waste into fuel, solar fufu pounding machine, solar wheel chair and a solar smart bag which serves as a power bank.

President Mahama also cut sod for the construction of a new campus of the Kumasi Polytechnic (K-Poly) at Piase in the Bosomtwe District in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday as part of his ‘Accounting to the People’ tour of the Ashanti Region.
The new campus is on a 200-acre land.
