On Apr 26 , 2016, President John Mahama commissioned the community day senior high school at Derma in the Tano South District in the Brong Ahafo Region.

As part of its bid to bring Senior High School Education to all communities, the NDC government of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama fulfilled a campaign promise of providing the Derma Community in the Tano South District of the Brong Ahafo Region with a modern E-Classroom Block for their Community Senior High School.

The existing community day SHS in the town, with enrolment of 243, which operated from a ramshackle six-classroom structure, relocated to the three-storey E-shaped building designed to accommodate 1,500 students.
