Liquid Waste Treatment Plant Replaces 100 year old 'Lavender Hill'
President John Dramani Mahama on Friday 25th November inaugurated a new liquid waste treatment plant to replace Accra's famous 'Lavender Hill'. Lavender hill is a place where liquid waste is dumped directly into the sea untreated. For over centuries, this part of Accra was ironically referred to as the lavender hill because of the strong stench that the place is known for.
